Crisis Creates Opportunity in Private Equity 🌤️ The Morning Print

Good morning!

The poster child of the private equity unwind is now testing its all-time lows.

Here's the setup.

Blue Owl Capital was one of the first names in the private equity space to come under stress.

After completing a multi-year head-and-shoulders top in January, the stock was effectively cut in half.

Now, its back to its all-time lows, with short interest at its highest levels on record.

So far this week, price is trying to engulf the prior three trading weeks, as buyers step in to take a shot at this beaten-down name.

Is this shaping up to be a classic "not a zero" setup, or will private equity stocks continue to face downside pressure?

Either way, the risk here is clearly defined.
